Marlie does not seem to keep condition well ( new horse to us) and as we have had snow she has dropped off a bit we were feeding lots of hay but she still lost some weight. I was going to buy her some speedi beet tomoz to help with condition. She is currently on chaff and high fibre cubes. Dont want anything too firey as she can be very spooky and dont want her pumped up so to speak so thought i would ask first here before i rush out and buy thanks guys

Jackie Taylor is the feed expert on here. We have a TB poor doer at our yard who seems to be keeping him weight on better now that he's on ad lib hayledge, i'm not sure what else she feeds him on, some sort of chaff & conditioning cubes I think??

a scoop of Alfafa A with oil and a scoop of sugerbeet, both slow releasing energy and add a 1/4 scoop of quiet mix if the weight still falls off but only if she is a horsey That shouldn't add any fizz. If a shetland a teaspoon of each

Oil (vegetable or alike from the supermarket) is great for weight gain, start with a bit and you can gradually work up to giving quite alot (will have to go search nutrition notes for exact amount). Shouldn't heat her up. Only thing is some fussy horses will only eat certain oils and others none at all. You could try alfa a oil but how much it contains i don't know.

Simple Systems blue bag grass nuts. I have been using this since the autumn and this is the first year my boy (TB) has held his weight really well through the winter and has stayed completely chilled out. I add a handful of chaff and handful of high fibre nuts just to make it a bit more interesting as it looks rather bland, plus a daily dose of vitamins and add lib hay.
Last year I had him on Copra Meal which I also found good but not sure if this made him a bit fizzy.

I had a very poor do-er TB on loan last winter and I found linseed oil much, much better than vegetable oil.
We fed D&H conditioning mix too but not sure if it'll be too fizzy for yours, mine was so laid back he could hardly be bothered to stand up!
