oh gillyano ((((((((((((hug)))))))))))) i am so so sad to hear this i know how you feel re the non IH yard its horrid isnt it. just think what it means though when they belittle your methods its, INTELLIGENT HORSEMANSHIP !!!!!! and you only have to look how far he has come using these methods he went from unable to be touched to being described by Monty himself as "The Perfect Starter" he said "Bailey will go down in my history as one of the easiest horses i have ever started, its as if he understood English and understood every word i said" not bad considering how many horses Monty has started eh??

Try this... Get an old car tyre inner tube (not blown up) Put it through the tie up ring and put one end through the other end of the tube. Tie your horse upto the inner tube and let him figure out for him self that he can not go backwards and snap the string as the inner tube will give and stretch and not let him get loose.. This works a treat especially for young horses

joe i must point out that it can also send your horse into a blind panic and cause a lot of damage to your horses neck and /or back, you may or may not have used this method with or with out results but i urge others to look into this very very carefully before doing it. i know this horse very well and his history and it is not a method i would recommend !
