Now there's nothing I love more than watching my horses playing together.... but why do they have to have a mad 5 mins galloping, bucking and sliding when the field really can't take it after being waterlogged for so many months? Sure, the top crust was almost frozen, but underneath it's still nice an boggy. It's snowing quite hard here, and what grass is left is now well covered, so I went to put out hay for my horses, and clearly the prospect of lunch was just too exciting... Well, I know the answer really - because they're horses, because they can, because it's fun, because they aren't thinking about next spring, when they are going to be stuck in this mud pit because I can't risk putting them down in the big field with new grass... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Blooming horses!

I know what you mean! We put the two old boys out the other day and they went sqealing down the field, bucking and "passing wind"! They have both had periods of box rest in the summer for tweaked tendons, so why do they have to try and perfect their sliding stops when the ground is like this!
They don't look like 20 year olds though! ;D
Modified to say - had to modify the automatic edit! It didn't make sense!

Yip, mine had a mental 10 minutes tonight as i accidentally let go of the arena gate into the yard, cue lots of mad rushing up and down for absolutely no reason other than they could!
