Don't know who you use but I use Fay Brown, who covers Anglia area. The horses all love her and she is very calm and quiet with them, and doesn't use power tools.. Even the most nervous horse soon settled to her quiet ways..... She will examine all your horses for you, no work=no charge. She also likes to handle the youngsters and check them over (no rasping) so they get used to the dentist before they get a proper "visit"...And she doesn't charge the earth either. She is coming out to us soon.....this is her second job that she does as a HOBBY, not to make a living, she just wants to make the horses comfy and happy in their mouths...hence she can afford to keep her prices competitive... www.horseandponydirectory.com/viewlisting.php?view=306This thread might be useful as a sticky, so others can recommend their own dentist and to use for future reference

I had Gary Draper out to do Amber about 2 months ago now and i can't fault his work. He was very good with my mare she was not really keen on the idea of having teeth done but he was patient and didn't rush her. And i thought his prices were very reasonable too. www.garryhorsedentist.co.uk/

Interesting, Lulu... I use Stuart Garrard. He's very good technically and handles the horses beautifully. Not necessarily the cheapest but that's not the top of my list. He's a BAEDT member and also works through one of the main equine veterinary surgeries in the area. The one thing I'd wonder about with the lady you use, Lulu, is the idea of someone who does something so technical as a hobby. It's a bit like with my own teeth, I would rather have someone properly qualified and recognised. I'm not at all saying that Fay Brown's anything other than good. However, that she doesn't say qualified, only trained and having attended workshops which sounds a bit light to me. I'm not a dental expert so am not in a position to judge equine dental work. I would therefore rather go with someone who I know has trained and qualified properly. Here's a link to the BAEDT/BVDA members: www.baedt.com/members.php
