Memememe Rutland and bits of Leicestershire - would do lots of PR for the area too. Could organise and either ride myself or find peeps happy to do so. Ride Welland could sponsor. Oooh what an exciting idea ;D

Laura, get hold of Lizzee and sort out some routes Do you mean me or someone else with a similar name If the latter could you give me her details because I'd like to get in touch with her I'm pretty sussed up (was going to write au fait bit not sure if that's how you spell it ) on routes etc and know the ladeez (and gent, sorry Clive) at Bridlerides.co.uk, bridleways.co.uk and TROT etc. Also know the National Forest folks (oops, another gent), and locally the BHS bridleways reps and council rights of way officers. For some reason, although I have a brain like a sieve and the memory of a goldfish (sorry about the thingies - can't remember what they're called ) I'm pretty good at organising things. I do have a bit of a vested interest, as this is just up Ride Welland's street. Saying that, Ride Welland is a publicly funded project so we are giving money away rather than taking it (we LURVE giving tax payers money away, but aint it great that it's for an equestrian cause for once?) I'd be more than happy to organise AND potentially sponsor all/any bits that go through East Northants, Harborough, Rutland, Melton and South Kesteven (i.e. the rural bits of the East Midlands which is what Welland basically is) as long as Ride Welland could get a mention Anyway - visit www.ridewelland.co.uk and you'll find my contact details

Of COURSE we will pick Lizzees brain . ..... and anything else useful she has Ok you are now officially the organiser for Rutland Lizzee ;D ;D ;D still compiling the list and contact details of all volunteers and since most of the general principles are coming together we can soon start making firmer arangements....... A thought there are some people with loads experience this stuff and some who admit to none but are willing. Would a little "leaflet" containing the agreed principles of the rides together with hints and tips be something we could put together and send out to all organisers ...... of course there will always be support and advice on here but having the majority of it in one place can be a great help. Off the top of my head .... Lizzee, Suse and Zuzan in particular seem rather experienced .... would you be OK in putting some notes down and send them to me.... I can pull all suggestions together into one document and between us all we should cover all eventualities ... could even be / include a "tick list" of things to remember. Then if it helps we can send it out to all areas.

There is an RDA centre nr Canterbury who host an EGB ride each year. I'm sure they'd be interested in helping out.

gem I am sure anyone will be glad of someone to share the load . we need lots of peeps...... riding and getting cash in and stewarding are all just as important this is above everything else a TEAM effort with all sorts different contributions needed and appreciated. I think we will all acknowledge a lead rein smallish persons £1 for a poottle around a paddock as much as an experienced LD riders 40k . both will also appreciate the person who welcomes them with refreshments at the end .....and we will want pics of all of them !!!! I must admit the most I was ever thanked when helping out at an event was when ensuring that all the officials at an endurance event had regular cups of tea and coffee ;D ( well it was rather chilly ! ) MOdified to add I have asked to have an area of the DG dedicated to the RRB and prob split into sub sections related to areas so that people can keep in touch with each other without tying the general board up with lots threads. One post can remain pinned probably to direct anyone not yet aware to that section ..... hope this can start soon. Please bear with us for a few days
