Excellent! It was amazingly interesting! Made some huge differences to our horses who we didn't even think needed changing! Shame you couldn't make it.. Maybe next time? X

Very well, even though my mare wasn't ridden Hilary did a fantastic job and we are going to have our own special Amber bit made up just for her. I certainly learn't a huge amount on Saturday, and seeing them all change before our eyes was fascinating. Great day!!

Hilary is just fantastic and I'd urge anyone who is near a clinic of hers to go along just to watch or, better still, get your horse bitted properly.
We tend to think in very narrow terms about bits, I think (guilty as charged in the past...). Most of us start of the basis of a singled jointed snaffle and spend more time wondering whether we want loose ring or D ring. Hilary gives you a whole new way of thinking, in fact makes you think. If I had a riding horse, I'd now be paying as much attention to the bit as I would be to the saddle. As Kate says, the right change makes such a huge difference even to horses where you didn't think there was a problem.
If your horse carries his head in the air, keeps his mouth open, avoids contact, plays with the bit, etc., the try and get him along to Hilary. It'll probably be the most expensive bit you've ever bought, but it'll be worth it.
We already have nearly enough interest for another clinic, so if anyone would want their horse to come, let me know now...

sounds brilliant, really sad I missed it but am just shattered from work and been exposed to swine flu, not the most popular thing to bring along!

Liz, count me in next time. I'll bring Murphy. Really sorry I couldn't come this time. Will give me time to save for a bit though!

LOL my mum didn't really understand where I was going and kept calling it the biting clinic (as opposed to the bitting clinic). Made me laugh. But seriously I had a good time and found it really interesting and I bought a myler 02 for my baby horse - on the strength of Hilary's advice - which he seems to like. I am looking forward to first aid this weekend.
