Apologies to those who have heard me ranting before, but we are approaching the last few weeks of the consultation on the implementation of cattle grids in Epping Forest. I thought I'd keep this reminder to the "areas" board Essex County Council plan to install 13 cattle grids in an area I can hack round in 1.5hrs easily. There are loads of livery yards and also riding schools in this area. Its an accident waiting to happen. This mare was euthanised in the new forest after getting caught:

This is DG'er Wally's mares injuries, thankfully this sturdy native type came sound.
Their theory is that by installing the cattle grids they can free range cattle there. I am also concerned that without slowing the traffic effectively the cattle and road users are at risk.
