Post by RiP Its A Matter Of Principle on Jan 5, 2009 14:26:14 GMT 1
On Saturday the 3rd Jan 2009 Principle and Rosie were put to sleep, both had been suffering alot of pain in the last month and we had done all that could have been done for them, they had been off grass for the last 3 years due to chronic laminitis and there last day spent @ Dun Daraich was spent on the Grass, Princey Rolled kicked and Bucked Then peacefully they were both PTS.
Princey has given me 13 yrs of joy and happyness yes we had our moments but i will be able to look back at every moment with smiles and tears of happyness! I am just so thankfull that everything he has given to people that me, his mum the one he looked to for everything was there for him in the end, and it really made me think about the horses that are in so much pain and left too long before we intervien!
Rosie gave us 11 years of joy, nursed through grass sickness and came out of it with Chronic laminitis Gentle soul! xxxx
This was Princey and Rosie end of October 2008 there last run around taken with camera!

Devastated to hear this. I'm another who has always admired your beautiful horses especially Principle. You truly could see his soul through his eyes. I cannot even begin to imagine your sense of loss right now. Please know that we are all thinking of you.
God bless. xxx

I am really sorry to hear.... I lost Sonny in August so i do know at least half of what you are going through...... losing one is heartbreaking but losing two must be devastating... keeping a "keepsake" helps me daily.... a shoe or a plait of the tail..... Plant a tree in the paddock if you can....... it does help.... thoughts are with you today......
