make sure you don't get nicked for planning permisson, some signs need it. Daft as it sounds it only takes one council "jobsworth"

you can ask the road council for a red triangle with a horse rider inside to be erected on the stretch of road where the horses live.... but i think it's the job of the person who lives there to ask for one.. not random car drivers

Lotuspoint Joe - I did that once, put some signs up saying 'slow horses' but they disappeared, not sure if they were pinched or removed by the council. I contacted the local highways and was told that I could get fined if I put unofficial signs up on the highway, or caused an accident by placing the signs in any unofficial place. The road in question is a 40mph but hardly anyone does 40mph, usually about 70mph! I even told the council a horse had already been killed (mine) a few years ago, but to them it's only an animal and not a child or OAP. I even used to work for the dam authority as well!
