My four recently weaned foals went out to play today - they've been 'restricted to barracks' (stable and small turn-out pens) for a couple of weeks as they always get a bit silly after weaning and a bit hard to catch. ' The hurtling around made it a bit hard to get decent pics but .... The chap in the front is a pure Irish Draught colt, the bay is a filly out of a big quality cob mare and the grey is (temporarily) a colt out of a TB mare. And actually managed to get all four into the one frame. The bay with the small star is another pure Irish Draught colt. They're all by my big stallion, Lady's Tralee Raj. AND we managed to catch them all again! ;D

ill have they bay filly please, nice to see babes having fun, OK - but you MIGHT regret it! She's got 'attitude' to burn! AND she's built like a little tank. She's currently sharing a stable with the little grey colt - to knock HIM into line - and once she's done that, I'll put her in with a couple of the older, bossy fillies to bring HER down a peg or two!

Could swap him for a nice young coloured? I've already GOT his coloured half-brother! And my husband won't LET me do 'swaps' anymore. I swapped a nice ISH mare for a 4 year old RID gelding with problems, last year. He's now for sale - and I bought the mare back! I'm not very good at getting rid of horses!

Lovely foals see they are still wearing their headcollars I feel a right idiot. Well don't! They sure wouldn't have them on when they go to the field. They wouldn't even have them left on in the manege except I was 'supervising'. They come off in the stables. The ruddy things DO go a bit dopey at weaning - which is why I keep them in for a while. These ones will stay in now as the weather is SO foul - but the older 4 are out in a field with a shelter shed - without headcollars. Foals and fields do not mix with headcollars.
