Oh God, poor Dan. Those people have a lot to answer for. Poor chicken. Maybe some treatment now might help him a little? I suppose the vet and chiro will decide what's best for him. Those people, grrr

Well, I'm glad you have an answer! But poor, poor Dan! My neck's hurting just thinking about what it must have been like for him being ridden with a fractured neck On the shoes front....I don't know if it's relevant really but shoes cause a heck of a lot of concussion. I don't know whether that would make things worse long-term....couldn't you work him in boots on more unforgiving surfaces? I assume he's ok on grass and in the school, so do you really need shoes for doing dressage?

I am so pleased you have found the cause, although I am sorry for what you have found I am constantly going on and on saying that just because things have been checked doesnt mean a problem doest exist (and have taken some flack for it on this board) - In many many cases horses problems remain undiagnoised because the problem is not identified dispite the owners best efforts - which as you say makes it very very hard - so I am so so pleased that this chiro was the one for you to help! Poor Dan tho

Yep, broken horses dressage club sounds good, lol! Seriously though, it makes success all the more sweet when you triumph after such hardship

Your absolutely right Nicola I can think of a number of horses I know that have had vet, backetc checks and got the all clear but are still have problems that I have the feeling have got to be caused by something physical.
In fact a friend of mine got told by number of vets that it was behavioural before eventually someone found the problem
