That's why I'm thinking that for her peace of mind more than to actually stop him, it might be better if she felt that he couldn't buck. Right ho, I'm tin hatless, cos I'm at home ill and I'd feel better if you shot me. I think the child should have a different pony. I think it is pointlessly UNKIND to make a little child persist with a pony that has damaged her confidence. And I don't think it will eventually make her more confident, it will gradually erode all the pleasure she has from horses.

Can someone show me a picture of both reins please coz I'm nosey and like to learn or a link to a site or something please?
Trig had woven reins with notches in them - what are they please? He wasn't a grabby pony just very very strong.

Can i add, that if you use side reins of any type, the slightly elasticated ones are what monty roberts would use, i believe.

Sue, I would tend to agree with that, not my kid or pony though so not my place to comment. However, from my point of view, this particular ponio is lovely and I would love to see him do well with the little girl who loves him to death. She wouldn't want to see him go and she isn't being forced to do anything she doesn't want, like i said, megan has ridden the horse and he went lovely,
