Hi
Pointless thread really, but just felt like saying!
I've had a bit of up and down december, even thought about chucking all in (?!!). my friend has done my boy the past four mornings (i am normally religiously up the farm morning and night) so I could have a break.
But today, well just now, been up there to see him and muck out, and its given me the motivation to enjoy the rest of the day!
Darco is such a leveller and the most wonderful thing in my life, I thought I had enjoyed a couple of days off (I have actually) but its just made me realise how much I enjoy getting up every morning to muck out and put my boy out!
A great early start to 2008!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
(now i've got to go work while everyone else has the day off!!! ;D )

It is great Darco - I don't feed at weekends and it's great to be able to choose when I go up and see Flynn - or not if I want! He lives out though so only the field to muck out for me!

I actually do my boys every morning and night 24 7 - 365 days of the year. However, i did have my first " i WANT to stay in bed morning " today, which alarmed me a bit. Whilst laying there looking at the clock, i thought about my boys wondering where their breakfast was, and i was up and out and back to it again. All animals are a tie and we accept the responsibilty of them wholeheartedly. However, its ok too to have a ' me ' moment just once in a while.

I know the feeling, when my old pony died I thought that I would enjoy not being tied and having to feed and muck out. For a very short time I did, but I missed having a horse dreadfully and eventually got Bailey. He lives out though so I'm not quite as tied as I was.

Please don't get me wrong, it was just the combination of a lot of yuk things all happening I guess in a way I started to Darco for granted, but having a couple of me days has made me realise what I am missing and how very lucky I am to have him in my life

Echo LorraineL!
I get a morning off on a Sunday, which is nice but to be honest it wouldn't bother me at all if I didn't. I love looking after all 3 of my boys.....it is a bit more tiring when they are all in in the winter though...and more expensive!lol Wouldn't have it any other way though:)

Don't beat yourself up its an anwful time of year, our yard always kicks off the maoning at each other about now and finishes, if any one is still friends, in about 8 weeks time! Its natural to be a little down.
