hi all ! he's really coming on leaps and bounds now in his LL lessons. Here are a few photos from today and he is really working his walk he has a very light mouth, will listen to the slightest of aids (most of the time) lol Here are a few pics, The first one is my fav as he is really reaching in his walk Just shows how gracefully the biggies can be hope you like them xx

we think ardennes cross he's having a touch of growth spurt at the mo, Can you see it in the second pic ?? loln he's such a softie, and really loving his work too get all excited

I thought he might be some form of Ardennes type, i really like them, they are BIG!! He looks like a right softie!!

He does look lovely! I just have one question, why the side reins?
Would these not affect his ability to turn when asked, and they seem a little tight, such as in the second pic?
I really hate to be picking holes, but I'm not a great fan of side reins, and just wondered about the reasoning behind using them when long-lining?

hey ! No ask away ! When we first started him, he used his weight against us, And this helped to gain control and keep things safe. Now he is more responsive to other aids we can look to start taking them off again.
He is rising 4 and about 15.1

Thanks for your reply Gee gee! I guess I'm just a bit 'off' about side-reins as you see so many people using them just because they are part of the 'linging kit' and don't give any thought to why, how, when to use them!

i love it ! he loves it too !!! it's fantasic ! reall reccomend it to anyone with a youngster mta - rummi i know what you mean ! but it's like anything, used in the right hands things can be of benefit not of hinderance Nice to see someone who can discuse things

do tell, what bit? I hope to keep Bailey bitless, but am keeping up with the latest ideas on bits incase i change my mind. I like the look of the myler ones that SarahW likes (is it Myler drop-cheek or comfort?......oh so much for keeping up! :
