Posted the following in the intros section and thought I'd pop it on here too!
Only discovered this bit yesterday!
I live in SW Scotland on an island quite famous for it's whisky and woollen mill! I've lived here all my life - well, apart from some 15 yrs in the big smoke. It was a teenager/job etc thing!
I'm not long back from the 5 day foundation so am new to all this. I've a 15'1, 11yr old gelding called Reg - he's on loan from ILPH or WHW as they are now. He's a lovely lad. He has 5 field mates, a Shire X gelding, a Shire colt (10 months and gorgeous) and a Shetland pony gelding. They belong to a friend. Then there's a TB mare and a Connemara X mare who belong to another girl who has livery with us. Friend will need to keep an eye on the colt .
I'm very 'green' so to speak. The most comp/showing experience I've had was local show as a young lassie. Thankfully, Shire owner is v. knowledgeable and keeps me right! Just as well, now that I have 2 girls wanting their own horses! Of course it means I can rekindle my own passion too!
I would love a Clydesdale for myself. Reg is fine for either of the girls. Needless to say, they have they're own ideas of what a 'perfect' horse is! One loves Friesians the other Palominos. Seem to think mum & dad have money trees out the back . If only!
I plan to continue with the IH courses - going on the Horse Psychology weekend in November next then see what's available next year to work towards finishing the stage 1. After that........
Well, that's enough waffle for now! Just thought I ought to say 'Hi' when I discovered this section. Have been enjoying browsing round some of the other dg threads and already learned lots .
