I find Mary Wanless unintelligible... I know some much more lucid writers.. Sally Swift or Sylvia Loch for instance..

I have Ride With Your Mind Essentials. That is very clearly broken down and has very useful off horse exersises to do. It also advises you to get a friend to help you see how you are aligned etc. However I can see that the books would be more difficult to get thehang of if you dont have RWYM lessons as there is a lot of specific images and language to RWYM. I use it to remind me of pieces I might have forgotten about. It is great if you have just had your first RWYM lesson and you want to understand it further.

you can borrow my Ride with Your mind - full version... vast door step of a book.. I gave up on it.. far better borrowing Sally Swift's Centred Riding books.. they're both shorter and clearer..
No book will ever replace on the ground tuition tho'

Ride With Your Mind Masterclass (full version) is an excellent book if you've had some lessons with a RWYM coach but it would be a hard book to start with. Ride With Your Mind Essentials is much easier to read. Heather Moffett's Enlightened Equitation is a good one to read too.

I have ride with your mind essentials, and have to say i found it hard to want to read for starters, and kept picking it up and putting it down, but i have to say... it is invaluable as it is in sections.. i have since had lessons with a mary wanless coach and have to say... i don't think my horse would turn the clock back....... he certainly is responding to the changes in my riding... so from that point of view it is well worth working through... and also great as you can work on a bit of your body at a time... also the visualizations really help.

Marys newest book is far easier to read than her 'Ride With Your Mind' original - tho I would give it a go anyway if you can pick up a copy - or borrow it - cos I understood it from reading it - might just be that I was REALLY ready to hear it! Where abouts are you? I could lend you any or all of them! Yes, I'm a fan.....!!!! or I could pghotocopy a bit of it and see if you are interested enough to splash the cash! I'd say try her new one though - very clear!

I'll copy a few pages at work tomorrow, see if you think it might be of interest to you! I could scan some bits and email them if you want? Obviously can only do a few bits, otherwise we get into copyright probelms, but it might be enough to let you know whether it was interesting enough to buy!
