Is this the Sylvia Stanier book? Haven't read it, so no help to you I'm afraid! But, I'd be interested to hear other people's opinions

Yes, I've got it. Sylvia Stanier edited from the original work - took this off amazon
Mary Chipperfield (Foreword), H.J. Lijsen (Author), Sylvia Stainer (Editor), A.D.H. Coxe (Translator)
I love it, but I'm into that sort of thing. I'm about to start my spotty luso x breeding program for my next generation of trick horses.... ;D
If anyone wants to buy a copy, I can put you directly in touch with Sylvia Stanier, it's £20 including postage, cheque or postal orders only. She privately re-printed a new edition and sells it direct.

Can't find a synopsis of it anywhere (& as I'm trying to be sensible these days instead of just buying books in a splurge) any chance of a review of what the book covers? One of my geldings spontaneously offers circus tricks (so far, spanish walk and bowing) so it would be nice to know if it would be useful for him
