He has full percheron papers (all french so cant understand a word of it) but no passport. If the french papers are marked with the Haras mark (as on the top right hand corner of the following link), then they are his passport. It should include in the paperwork a horse line drawing to show his markings, a section to complete for his vaccinations and a section that shows his breeding lines. www.haras-nationaux.fr/portail/

Hiya At least yours has boulders to view cant see sultans they are somewhere up and beyond! (doesnt seem interested in ladies , yet!) He doesnt seem to be too nippy but that could change, yes he eats everything and loves carrots and he also like to haynets and walks from to one the other. Im not too sure what has happened to his head, at the moment it is a dry scab but im keeping my eye on it, but doesnt seem to bother him although he doesnt like me touching it! I took him for a walk around the menage and he now looks like he starting to take everything in that is around him. Actually no he took me for a walk/run round the paddock!! ha ha Hows yours doing and how old is he etc?

Hi Blueberry
Jon says that when he first met Sultan 2+ weeks ago he had a gash on his forehead and it had already scabbed over. However, he was then rubbing it against the metal bars. We had a good look at it before he was loaded and it seemed to be healing fine.
Re the documents, if you have any questions, drop us a pm as we are fairly familiar with them now and can remember Sultan's well as he was one of the first. You have to send the back card off to Haras in France to get him re-registered in your name. There is no fee and it takes a few weeks. Again, pm us if you need more info.
Glad to hear he is settling in well, he's a lovely horse - his knees are hooooge!

Thanks ever so much for the info dobsie, i will be in touch re the papers soon! just to let you know the gash on his head has healed nicely. He is happy to let me brush round his face and forelock so i know its not bothering him. Hes ever so lovely and his character is showing through now- hes cheeky!!He loves his tea and enjoys being groomed and likes me to cuddle his face and adores kisses, well i do and maybe he just puts up with them! ha ha but i think he likes them!!He had his first taste of grass today and he is surprisingly nimble on those chunky legs especially in trot. He got that excited he scared himself ran back to me so i took him in his stable to chill, im sure he will sleep tonight. Out again tomorrow so maybe not as scary. I will take some pics of him again soon. Our local paper is doing a write up on him and the plight of all horses undergoing live export, i have asked the reporter to display the web address with the hope to gain more support. I will keep you posted. (looking forward to seeing you on friday debutante

Guess What.... I went to meet Sultan and the Blanket spotted colt today, i bet your all jealous hehe, they are sooooo lovley and couldnt have better owners, so chilled out just in there stable whilst bluberry groomed him, his poor little feet though, but at least there going to be fixed, the cut on his head is healing so well and he looks like he has black eyeliner all round his eyes. He is going to be absolutley hugh massive wide chest and big strong knees. He seems so happy with life and eveything .. he know when its time for his feed of formula 4 feet hehe and is really playfull, he is stabled next to his little friend the spotted colt he is unusuall and so cute seems to have a right little character aswell. I was so pleased to be able to see them both as they are not just picture on the danger list anymore thanks to Blueberry and her friend there Happy Little (or due to big huge in sultans case) Horses that are looking forward to a safe happy life in a loving home ps Thank-you blueberry for spending the time with me and my mum at the yard. Well Done for rescuing them you should be proud of yourself.

Sultan sounds lovely, he has very exotic looking eyes doesn't he, very striking. Glad he's settling in so well and good luck with sorting his feet. Thank goodness he's now in a lovely home where he'll get all the care he needs.

Thanks for all the lovely comments about Sultan, he is a real sweetheart! Our local paper did a write up on him and dispalyed the wemsite address for www.equinesection.com (debutante-i have also found it difficult to find the article on the web, i may call the gazette to find out how to access it). We own an equestrian shop where we live so we have had many people come into the shop to ask about Sultan and the plight of horses facing live export. We are so pleased because it achieved the publicity we hoped the article would which would raise peoples awareness to the campaign.I will post the article when i can access it as a download-unfortunately my computer skills are limited but i will keep trying.
