I’m fairly new to this site but I’ve been following everything that has been going on with rescuing these horses as I know Melissa who rescued LaFun.
I just thought as a bit of an outsider I would give my thoughts on the T-shirts, which I think are a blooming good idea by the way and I’ll definitely buy one!!
I really can appreciate that the more shocking the picture and caption, the more notice people are going to take, but I also think that a picture of them looking nice and healthy in their new homes will also have an impact. Just an idea but what about a picture of them like when they arrived on the front of the T-Shirt, with a caption, (don’t know what exactly but i like the "Road to Hell idea) and then a picture of them looking all well and healthy on the back of the T-Shirt with another caption, like a before and after. As some of you have mares in foal or possibly in foal, perhaps a picture on the back with the mare and foal (obviously have to wait a bit for that pic!) but a picture of a mare and foal always tends to pull at people’s hearts, well those of us in the world that have them!
Just an idea anyway.

welcome tonim.
I think that we should put all the ideas together, maybe on the main board, and have a vote,is this possible? Also, now that there have been a couple of suggestions for how to sell them, maybe we could do this on a bigger scale? In which case would it be worth contacting the ilph? as people would need to be able to do something constructive and that would probably need to tie in with their campaign?

Hi
I have had interest from someone wanting to use the HALT slogan I created.
I still think shock tactics are needed for posters and car decals.
The T Shirts would be a fab idea to raise funds for our own charities and also giving awareness for live export.

There's a photo on the ILPH website that maybe has the message but without being so shocking as to turn people away. www.ilph.org/campaigns_details.asp?id=588You've got the poor little chap(ette)'s face in the foreground and the worse message if you look hard behind. I wonder if a car/horsebox sticker with something like that, "remember me while you're travelling in style", might be effective? If so, would it be worth asking the ILPH if we could use their photo if we put their weblink up too?

Hi everyone the lady has written back again - she seems lovley please read on....
Hi Shelly
a colleague of mine passed the link onto me as we keep in close contact with all of this, in fact she has an equestrian supplies shop so as far as the t-shirts go we could sell quite a few between us so no problem there just let us know.
Like I say we are going to set up some aromatherapy demonstration parties, of which we will be happy to donate some of the commission on sales, plus do raffles etc and I know you are not a registered charity do you have a logo or anything like that and information that I could put on flyers/posters etc.
I am sure that the livery where we are between us we could put another horse/pony at our stables, I know that they are looking for a gelding, but I would be happy to have one of the horses in plight and I am sure that if we all put in together we could buy one, will speak to my colleagues and print some stuff off your web site and we will also get together to get some fund raising done to bring one home for us.
Look forward to hearing from you again
God bless
Lyn x

Try these for a quote - someone put this link on another site as their son has t shirts printed and sells them: www.shirtysomething.com/How about On the front: [glow=red,2,300]How far would YOU go for a good meal?[/glow]PIC OF ONE OF THE SAVED HORSES Witty one liner about how far he was destined to go (escapes me at the moment!) On the back PIC OF PACKED TRUCK (BUT NOT TOO GRAPHIC is there one on the ILPH site they would be happy for you to use?) Join the ILPH campaign - on the hook, not the hoof: ILPH link Equine Section link IHDG link
