Oh bless him, they are lovely photos melissa. It made me laugh when your Mum said that you only mentioned about having LaFun once he arrived !!!!
Its a surprise really that shes still speaking to you !? Look forward to seeing him in the flesh - hopefully next week.

Yep, he was a super star Melissa - as were you
And no, he didn't do what you said he had been doing .............. but that is because you had just put in half an hour's ground work with him, so he had learned what you expected of him, and that you were a trustworthy leader
Horses are constantly asking questions, and if the answer isn't "no", then by default it is "yes". In the half hour before we took him out of the field we had been telling him either "no" or "yes" so by the time we took him out he knew what was going to be acceptable, and what wasn't.
He may well ask a few more questions once he is feeling fitter and stronger, but as long as you make it clear to him what is required of him I have absolutely no doubt that he will carry on being a total poppet ;D
PS. Morse98, I would come and help them all if I could!

What lovely news - It seems the trotters are all very gentle sould which is great news!! Sarah and I have come to the conclusion that things happen for a reason and so us ending up with the most unhandleable (is that a word) has a reason - im just waiting to see what it is lol!! Im just able to get close now

lol gem! you and sarah are obviously the most experienced and that is why you have them!! ;D
La Fun had his first jabs today, bless him. I dint think he even noticed! ;D
Have my worming sorted now - vet said to give him panacur guard 5 day, then a break of a few days and equest (i asked her about the safety issue of equest-she said it could and has caused deaths in horses due to not giving something like panacur first. if you give equest to a horse that is riddled, it will suddenly flush out all the redworms etc and cause colic) then after the equest leave about 10 days and do tapeworm! Be glad when that is all done!!

Did your vet advise you to give bute alongside the worming? Decreases the chance of them colicing but I was told to wait at least 6 weeks before doing Honey again with anything and she had Panancur 5 day guard too?

hi suzie - no mention of bute...she did say to keep extra special eye on him whilst on panacur and if all ok then follow up with equest..........i hope this will be ok! 6 weeks is a long time in between.....

Hi Melissa. How is he doing today ?? Hopefully i will be able to see for myself at the weekend. Do you need anything particular for him ? I have got nearly a whole tub of probiotic at the yard if you think it might help him ?

after much deliberation i have decided to call him uge! that is what i thought he was called from the start, i like the name, kind of suits him too.
he is still a poppet, putting a bit of weight on as he is not so ribby now. he is so vocal!! bless him, he whickers at everyone!!
