;D I suspect it's "a boot up the kahuna" that doesn't translate. Have you heard the term 'a kick up the a*se' (with an r replacing the *)

They both mean the same - more politely one would say: 'great encouragement' - or 'an incentive'.

Yes I love it in here! I get support from people and I get to hear about my friends achievements too and it DOES help to know that you are not alone in feeling nervous, because it always seems that on your yard etc everyone is super confident! and it's probably not the case...

Persian Horse is the most polite man I've ever come across! Yes, I find the Confidence board very useful. It's really enriching to share our stories, nerves, and simply to come on and have a good whine (guilt free) when needed.

This section is fab. It is lovely to know when you post all the little achievements that others will appreciate, how big an achievement it is for a nervous rider.
It is really nice to feel that being nervous doesn't necessarily mean bad rider. I feel alot of times that i can do so much more and it is my nervousness that holds me back, everyone is very supportive so that those things you wish you were doing are not just a wish but actually seem attainable.

I love this section too!! I enjoy hearing about everyones little acheivments and obsticles (and how they got over them), Im a nervous rider and its made me feel alot better knowing there are others out there that feel the same.

I find this section particularly helpful and will try to post more here in the future.
Knowing other people share your fears doesn't make them seem so bad and you certainly don't feel so isolated.
I've discovered some really good tips here too.

And you know what, with a very tiny exception (once ) everybody is always very nice to each other too.

I think it is brill that we can be so honest about our worries with like-minded people. Everyone just wants to help each other and share success.

Will need your help soon. Gotta get me and Lincoln to a show (blimey, had the trailer since Feb and not unwrapped it from it's plastic yet). Someone give me a boot up the "kahuna" LOL ! xx
