We are having the vet out at 5.30 tonight to give him the once over. He just doesn't seem himself. I got Andy to lunge him for 5 mins this morning he said he seemed a bit stiff over his rear end. I have spoken to my farrier and he siad if i am still worried he will come and check his feet, although there is no heat and no pulse that is obvious, not sure if i was feeling in the right place , poor Aaron was trying to explain over the phone. Luckily i didn't ride last night just groomed and he seemed very quiet but still enjoying his food. He does like going for a hack so going round the field has to be the next best thing at the moment but even then he wasn't as interested as usual andwe didn't speed walk as usual but just ambled round. You know when things just don't feel right but you can't put your finger on it. He is such a good boy and i so miss being able to have a good canter round. He hardly ever bucked until the dressage clinic last month. The only time i have known him to do it was when he hadn't been ridden for a while and when he had an insect bit under the saddle area. Will keep you posted.

I cannot recommend enough that you get a chiropractor out. I had a vet check my mare, and the physio he referred me to and neither could find anything wrong with my mare. I knew there was something though so I got a Chiro out and she found what was wrong just looking at her! I am so glad you are looking at this with the right perspective nic - he's not a naughty boy, he wouldn't do anything to be nasty - there must be something.

Vet reckons he may have a virus. We trotted him up etc and he was a bit stiff, no temperature, no heat in feet or pulse. He was a bit pale in his gums. He has a bit of a cough, which he seems to get when his coat changes. Vet thinks that it may be a seasonal allergy because it happened when i brought him home last april, it happened again when he was getting his winter coat in autumn and now he is moulting he has it again. So we have anti biotics to clear that up and she took some blood which i should hear the results today. I have to pick up a vitamin preparation to give him a boost. He has to have 5 days off to rest, so i will just take him out for pickings and a nice brush down.Hopefully he should be more himself after that.
Will keep you posted when i hear.

Hope he is feeling much better soon Nic. If you are thinking of having a chiropractor out, I would wholeheartedly recommend a McTimoney practitioner. Our McTimoney lady is FANTASTIC, she has worked miracles with Bobby over the last two and a half years, no question.

He has had his back done by a McTimnoey lady just a few weeks ago. The vet dropped off some vitamin stuff for me to give him, but i am still waiting for the blood results hopefully will hear tomorrow. He seems ok, he has to have 5 days off to rest, its not like we do anything too energetic anyway, then we will go for a walk. The vet is also going to clean his bits for me when she comes next week, as he has really gungy back legs, i wash it off and a day later it is back. He will only let me wash a bit and won't drop it out, so can't really do a better job, the vet said she will do it an check there is no infection there either, but she didn't want to sedate him while he was under the weather.
