Thanks everyone. This really is my favourite place on this board. So much positivity for everyone. I hope I can return the favour to any others who have 'moments' as well in the future.
And thanks LouiseC for the info. I'll check it out !

Oh and just to add - had my first canter today since she arrived. In my own field but it still felt amazing. She's such a little star and I can't believe how lucky I am to have her.

Well done! Sorry I didnt see this earlier but I would have said the same thing as armarche! I know how made up you feel, just keep going with the flow and take everything as it comes Kathleen Lindley is excellent. I spoke to her alot at one of Marks Clinics and if I wasnt so far away id be going myself!

Just joined this site. Delighted to find others with 'wobbles'! I have my first horse at the age of nearly 57 - is this a record! He is Ok with his field mate but i've just started going solo and its scary - although he's a quiet cob - he's quite spooky on his own. We met an open horse box with a horse in and he went backwards briskly but with some gentle encouragement plucked up the courage to pass it. On the way home he was calling to his field mate and trying to jog - I kept half halting and trying to make him walk. Looking back I suppose it was a success!! He has to get used to going out without his friend and I will have to persevere! I was singing, though I can't remember what.

js - well done with all the amazing progress. And cantering too - fantastic. Bobby and I will be at the Clinic in July, as will Louise and Flynn. Would be lovely to meet you. And boy will I be nervous...! But Kathleen is fab, she really is.
Jane Sanderson - welcome to the DG! Sounds like your solo hacks are going pretty well TBH. I can usually only remember to sing "Baa Baa Black Sheep" in times of stress. I am sure I heard somebody singing "They're coming to take her away haha, they're coming to take her away" back at me... Bobby probably thinks crikey I will never ever spook again as long as you promise to stop singing - or just rolls his eyes as if to say what on earth is riding me today, a cat being strangled!
