Rode Bobby this morning - and although he went 23hh when his fieldmates across the track started having a hoolie I just kept turning him and walking him forwards, and turning him again until he listened to me, and on we went. Still only working in walk due to his fitness and won't pretend my heart didn't sink for a minute when he spotted them. But kept breathing and working him through it. Felt like I rode him through it instead of acting like a panicky passenger. So small steps but we are getting there. Was very very pleased with him. And our fab back lady came out today, and his back/pelvis etc is still spot on. Not bad for a horse who needed so much chiropractic treatment in times gone by!

Yep, you've cracked it!! Well done you - I know how hard it can be to take charge in those sort of circumstances. What are you going to do at the clinic now???

Oh thanks Jill! But we are far from out of the woods believe me. I think it is all you lovely DG peeps willing me on which is focusing my mind... And with more work and better leadership from me Bobby will begin to take less and less notice of what is going on around him and will focus on me more. What I am delighted about is that up to now (touches wood frantically) I have had no desire to do my usual leap off and deal with it from the ground thing and to be honest have been able to keep pretty calm.
Thanks for your support, it truly is appreciated x

That's great Casper. I know how hard it is going out there and supressing the fear. You are doing magnificently. Re: leaping off. A few walks home soon cures that... it did me anyway! I'm too lazy now and would have to be dragged off!
