i personally feel keeping horses at riding schools isnt good. i dont feel you can please yourself as its full of clients and lessons etc and obviously a lot to work around. but there are lots of other places.

Kirsti grant at collingham hall, collingham take liveries, not far from brac at all. Trent valley have nice hacking and a decent jumps field - its a riding school too but has lots of liveries :-)

I love my yard its quiet, the horses are really laid back, its DIY but everyone helps everyone else, with turnout etc.

Not any in southwell as far as I know - there's Retford saddlery but thats a bit too far out of the way. If you pop into trent valley or Collingham hall - they will tell you of other yards around and about. they are both quite friendly.

this will sound silly but where abouts are Collingham hall and Trent valley? and do you think they will mind me just turning up?

Hi Sophie - I've mailed you before but noticed your thread was up again.
Forrest Feeds are in Edingley about 3 miles from Brack - they provide lots of equine stuff and feeds etc. but not tack. Nicky and Kelly who work in there both know pretty much about who has vacancies locally.
Did you ever contact our yard at Halam ? We can hack to Brack in about 45 mins. There aren't any spare stables at the moment but I'm sure grass livery would be an option.
Let me know if you want more info.
Jo
PS Collingham is just off the A46 Newark to Lincoln road, so a bit further afield. Trent Valley is at Fiskerton - it's a big riding school who are just having a huge indoor arena built but it is very busy, lots of kids and ponies !!

oooo im really sorry i completly forgot about ringing!!!!
i would really prefer grass livery if it was availabl...Otto doesnt like being stabled he would much rather be out but its not possible round here so he has to come in during the winter.
i will find out the number and try and ring later...thank you very much for reminding me!

awwww he looks fab!
ive been up to southwell this week ive been round the yards that are closest to Brac, Smithfields, Trent Valley and Kiric and was told that the yard in Halam was full. there all very nice yards if i went to trent valley (the RS in friskerton) he would have to go on grass livery as there others have scarily little turn out. Kiric scared me it was immaculate!!! and im muchly in love with Smithfields but think i would have to put Otto on part loan to aford to keep him there and i dont no if i dear!
