Hi do you happen to have the number of the man on the quad as I used a man last year who had a quad and he was quite cheap and very good. The man I used this year charged a fortune.

Even spraying doesn't always help, our main turnout has been sprayed for the last 2 years and was still absolutely riddled this year, it's a real worry. The horses have now been moved off to rest it till the new year as normal and it's being topped, but it's a real worry. The problem is that it's such a brilliant yard in every other way and the turnout is otherwise fantastic with absolutely everything a horse could wish for. At least there's always plenty of grazing, all you can hope is that that has been enough. 3 years ago when we moved there, there were almost no plants at all, but it was left to run riot before being pulled from the highway verges alongside the top edge of the field and has colonised. I know from first hand experience that Highway Authorities will act, but only in response to repeated complaints, Ragwort just isn't seen as a priority issue in the mainstream

So sorry to hear about Pie Diane, its a terrible way to go, i sawit once thats why im so passionat about getting ragwort removed. I read somwhere that seeds can live in the ground for up to 20 yrs, thats why the field thats been sprayed twice is still covered.

That's just what the farmer said. We're going to have to get organised next year and have some pulling parties though I'm sure some people will be happy to let others do all the work. Diane, just read your other thread, can't imagine what you're going through right now
