I have a dog who'd be perfect for this, but we're struggling to find a good club to do normal training with first, then move onto agility. Clubs either don't want to cater for her issues, or don't get back to me!

Thanks, all help appreciated.
My dog really would be perfect for agility, but we have a few training issues to resolve first - and no one seems to be able to help. She's a sweet dog, but can be nervously aggressive, and has a very short attention span - I need to do more basic obediance work first. We can do sit & down, and at a distance, as long as she's not distracted, but I'd like her to have a bit more of her attention on me.

I don't think they have to be KC registered - do they? If so, then I'd be stuffed, as my dog is BC x GSD!

No, they don't need to be KC registered to do agility.

I used to do it with my old dog, I had to register her with the kc but as she was a mongrel I just registered her as a cross breed. They do need to be registered but dont need to be pedigree. You can register any dog with the kc, at least this was the way 10 years ago!!

Dogs have to be registered with the KC to do open shows under KC rules, and non-pedigrees go into the working register so no problem if you don't know the breeding or exact age. Alternatively there are more unaffiliated shows these days and I don't think you have to be registered for those. Registration doesn't cost much anyway so you might as well do it as it gives you far more options once you start to compete.
Go for it, it's great fun and very addictive whatever your dog's abilities. Mine still loves it at the age of 12, although she can only do mini height now.

I've been doing agility for almost 2 years and it is a great thing to get into. My dog is a mongrel and is registered with the KC we compete at Crufts. There will be a lot of small really good clubs that won't be on the websites provided, but if you wanted to find out about them go to a show (can be found on agilitynet and agilityeye.co.uk) and just ask around who trains where and what clubs are in your area.
