Flynn has a KC trim, had it for about a year now and it's really suited him.

Minnie's another one for a KC trim, although we are early days still, but back in work and building up gradually with no problems (fingers crossed)

Bobby has front shoes on and a KC trim on his hind feet. His hind shoes were taken off late July and we have had no problems at all with the transition. I would like him to be barefoot alround ultimately but whether we will or not the jury is out at this stage. Hoping to do Trec on him next year and need to know he will be able to cope with all the varying terrains we could meet.

One in work HPT trimmed and one wonky footed babyhorse lounging around doing nothing HPT trimmed. One that actually does work has been barefoot nearly a year and is fine to do pretty much anything now, including miles of road work and stoney tracks. This time last year her feet were a mess.

Pony in work is shod in front ( couldn`t cope barefoot with flinty New Forest tracks) but the others are all barefoot and trimmed by our farrier.

My girls are both shod in work, we do quite a bit of roadwork and Beryl's feet aren't up to being unshod.

Good for you Jenniwren.
Why do people worry that if horses do roadwork they have to be shod? (Genuine question here as mine does roadwork and has never been shod or had any problems).

Retired Part Arab shod in front only. Part Arab ,light work summer only- barefoot, farrier trimmed (feet like iron). Heavy cob- full work, shod all the time, barefoot not suitable. I/DxT.B- full work, shod all the time, barefoot not suitable.

All mine are barefoot, I suppose they'd be classed as having a HPT. I've put in work as 3 are supposed to be although the other two just sit in the field and look pretty (and eat!).

HPT is the High Performance Trim and is a method of barefoot trimming that incorpates the careful consideration of the enviorement to condition the foot helping it to improve. For more information about HPT look on my website under the Equine Podiatry Tab and it has a link on there which will take you to the offical site
