On a similar line to the what have you learnt this year, what have you achieved in 2005 and what are your goals for 2006.

I too have achieved my dream. I gave up my career of 17 years and opened my own business, initially as an online retailer and 3 weeks ago we opened our first tack shop which is going really well. I qualified as an SQP to sell wormers and am working harder than ever but enjoying every minute of it.
For 2006 I want to expand my knowledge and gain further qualifications that are relevant to our business. I aim to grow the suppliers we have in our shop and also increase our online business. I also want to get back on Pie and get over the nerves. For that I am planning to go back to lessons on a schoolmaster and take it slowly (I learnt that you don't bounce after 40!)

I aim to be more modest .............. then again, its difficult to see how I can possibly be any more modest than I am.

Got a good job, first horse, and started own business this year. Next year, hope to branch out and give up 'proper' job, and move to a place with land so I can see my boy from the house!

strange year as it seems to have just gone without me noticing. Now in finak year of nursing degree and it has just taken over my life - I shall be so glad when it is ended but the ward where I wanted to work has closed because of NHS cuts so I am sitting here wondering whether the pay-off will be worth all the very hard work, no money and no social life. Having had nnothing to do with horses for over 2 years now getting the urge to be back to normal again. Apart from that got held up and hijacked at gunpoint in the sumer in Tobago so that's been my main talking point!! Basingstoke I do hope that 2006 brings you better news - I have had a very good friend and she has had a rotten year too so my love and best wishes to all those that have had a tough time and may life get better (I've had a few years I've been glad to see the back of so I can empathise)

Oh God, I think I will be glad to see the back of this one. And with it the depression that has sucked the life out of me and my poor hubby. Want to free the me inside, she's close but not close enough to touch yet. Want to get money together for Bach flower rem course, be best friends with Gordo, love my husband as he deserves to be loved, show my boys how fun life is, stand up on my surfboard, be financially self-sufficient, develop my dormant a/c skills, find a field for Gordo that's all ours, maintain my weight loss and start writing my bestseller. A few to start with!!

Achievements for this year: a) Got married! b) Survived - we lost hubby's Aunt and Dad to cancer, my Mum was diagnosed with cancer too and wasn't expected to make the end of the year (although she has), and he was made redundant.
Goals for the New Year a) Retrain to do something I really want to do - and stop working in a darned office b) Have the chance to 'live' a little rather than just 'survive' on a day to day basis c) Tell everyone 'I love you' a few more times each day - because you never know when it might be your last.

Well, this year I have started showing my mini shettie and took him to his first affiliated show in which he came 3rd. I also feel this year I have really bonded with my big lad at last and he's come on in leaps and bounds in terms of ridden work and his general behaviour (about time!!!) Goals for 2006 - would love to enter Stanley in a ridden coloured class (I'm a big chicken though!), take my shetties to as many shows as poss and do lots of work with my section a to boost his confidence.

Found the right home for Bobby, after being on an awful livery yard. We are now in a great place, lots of safe hacking, brilliant atmosphere etc. Goals for 2006:
Canter with confidence. Do some Trec competitions on Bobby. Spend time with as many of our positive horsey friends as possible. Stop worrying so much about getting it right and just get on with it!
Happy Christmas and New Year to one and all - will be interesting to reflect back this time next year to see how we all did!

Achievements this year - found more confidence with my horse, jumped our first cross country course together, got our first rosettes together in dressage and showing (which I always thought I'd hate, but he seems to be v good at!), discovered Monty's loading techniques, tried Equine shiatsu, and other alternative remedies, and took my horse on holiday for the first time!
Goals for next year - to move up a level in dressage, and to do more showing, including some Riding Club Horse classes (with jumps in, argh!), to take another holiday with horsey and ride on the beach, and to generally enjoy how fabulous he is!!
