p.s. You never know about people's circumstances to you? Sometimes unexpected things happen and throw your world upside down. Maybe this lady didn't plan selling them when she put them in foal.

I think there seems to be a bit of a general run on arabs at the moment - even had one turn up on Project Horses the other day.

Just so you know the owner of those arabs uses this board.
Dont see anything to warrant saying 'poor mares' about them though. The stud is having to cut down on stock for whatever reason and it happens to be two well bred mares in foal to a good stallion who are for sale for good prices (the foals will sell for as much as the mares are advertised for) It may be when the mares were put in foal the intention was to keep them but circumstances change and Im sure the owner of these mares isnt going to sell them to someone who doesnt have a clue about breeding.

tragedies and sudden change of circumstance can happen to anyone at any time. we know that. however, i agree with arabmania on this one and these arabs read like commodities rather then loved pets. seems sad to me.

Maybe you should speak to the owner of these arabs on the forum, put up an FAO for her. Im sure she will be quite upset about a couple of things said. I sold a mare in foal earlier this year does this mean I treat my horses as commodities too? The adverts are factual basic descriptions of the horses so how you can possibly tell how an owner treats thier horses from them is beyond me. Amma you seem to be a lovely person and I do understand but please dont assume the owner of these arabs doesnt care, shes a breeder and sometimes breeders get overstocked completely unintentionally and it gets to the stage where they have to decide between overcrowded fields, not enough stables and great expense and selling a couple of horses to good homes. Its as difficult for a person who owns 20 horses to sell one as it is for a single horse owner to sell thiers.
Horses are bought and sold everyday and many many in foal mares are amungst them.

Maybe just a silly thought but maybe these mares would ove a one to one home and the owner is giving them that opportunity, maybe she knows these animals in particular would love to have an owner to have them all to themsleves not because she doesn't love them but because she does love them ad can't make herself be that one horse owner for them. I think you could be jumping the gun a tiny bit here

Was trying to keep mouth shut on this one but unfortunately can't! Sadly sometimes things don't go to plan for everyone, and horses have to be sold. Those arabs are loved, well cared for and their owner is lovely. I bought 2 of my girls from her, including ym in-foal mare - should anyone else who buys one of the in-foal girls get half the pleasure, love and sheer rush of pride I've had from the waiting, foaling and raising of one of these girls foals then they will be very, very happy! I wouldn't hesitate to buy another from here, they're all happy, very well looked after and fun to be around little horses.

Sam, you know you're not allowed to tempt me by telling me about more lovely Arabs for sale! Especially in foal mares, I'm suffering from serious foal withdrawal at the moment and have even threatened to send Rasheeka to stud next year.

Like Sam, I know the owner. As to why she is selling is HER business and HERS ALONE. Too many people in this world make assumptions. How dare you?!

Am I the only one who doesn't think it's that unusual to be selling a broodmare in foal? It's done all the time..I don't see the difference between that and selling a mare or foal on it's own. Actually, you might say it's fairer on the foal if it's still in utero when it goes to a new home. No frightening adjusments to be made.

Ebyss, I thought it was not unusual to sell in foal mares too. Not something I'd do unless it was essential, perhaps (says she who hasn't actually sold any of hers anyway!) but I'd certainly consider buying an in foal mare if I was looking. Just as well I haven't got any spare cash though!
I've just had a look at them - I do like the first brood mare on the list. And the geldings. And the foal. No, I really mustn't, I haven't got room!
