Hi Nimrod, thanks for enquiring! Just had a big setback with Fire, basically she's going to have to retire because of her back problems. Elaine at EMW has kindly said that they can take her in March. There's another thread somewhere called Cry a River where I've put the details. But am feeling more positive now, because I'm trying to force myself to be! Picturing her relaxed and happy at EMW and not missing me as much as I miss her.

Oh I dunno Miranda, how many boxes of tissues did you use up? I do appreciate this though, thank you again x Well, it's always the same with horses, real highs and sometimes real lows.

I'm just plucking this from my original thread so people know what's going on. A few have thought that Fire has passed away, and she's not intending to do that for a while She is going to EMW in March. "It's no good. Feel really pants and lots of words that the forum would edit into something respectable. Lovely new vet came to see Fire today. Confirmed my feeling that physically she's not good. So the kissing spine situation has deteriorated. He said she moves really strangely and had a lot going on (I know...) and he can't believe it's only the "spinous processes" causing it. But at this stage not worth putting her through even more tests to find out the cause. She's not coping with my hilly fields either, and needs to be off them asap. He said many people would have her pts, but if I can find her a home on reasonably level or gently sloping ground, with horses she's happy with, then she could have a good quality of life for some time. Not sure how long, she will let me know when it's "time". Suggested things like devil's claw etc. Don't put off doing things with your horses people. I've been planning to get someone to video Fire's stunning groundwork and liberty, but it didn't happen for various reasons. Now she may not be able to do those moves again. 6 months old foal to 7 1/2 year old mare and here we are." Fire's photos if anyone would like to see photobucket.com/albums/a217/crystalfire2/Crystal%20Fire/
