Buckskinbabe, that saddle is absolutely gorgeous, I love the colour. I've only ridden Western a couple of times, on a very skittish arab, so I was concentrating too hard on the horse to be able to appreciate the saddle. It felt very secure though.
Do post some piccies of your horse wearing it......Cx

Wow, it's beautiful. What a wonderful present! I love the colour too. The one I bought for my mare actually doesn't fit her too well but thankfully fits my gelding perfectly. It's not easy to get western saddle to fit perfectly.

Not one for fancy tooled westerns but this one isn't overdone and because it isn't that yeuky orange colour it looks great--bet it weighs a ton though! Yeah it weighs about 30lbs (I don't know what that is in metric), but my horse seems pretty comfortable with it despite the fact that he is a smaller horse. It wasn't overly expensive by 'good' western saddle standards. The retail price was $1000, but we got if for about $800. It was last years model so it was on sale. This years model one would have cost about $1200. The only difference I saw between the two was that the newer one had hanging fringes on the conches. My mother is kind of a cheap skate at times, but even she thought this saddle was worth it. This is something I will be able to keep forever.

Congratulations! It's beautiful saddle! Is it one of the flex lights? I have been thinking about a Circle Y flex light saddle for quite some time. Glad to hear that you and your horse both love it!!
