Marigold is out 24/7/365 with natural and man-made shelters. And fat and happy.
Though in about 8 inches of snow this morning! Thank goodness for farmer who had already put hay out when I got there!

Robin lives in at night and the others are out 24/7. They are all fully clipped with very large turnout rugs on.

Out in the day with free access to the stable if they want to go in and in at night. Both are rugged up so stay warm whether in or out. Free access to hay 24 hours a day and fed twice daily.

Hmm this was tricky - I chose the in at night and out in the day but the other questions were more straight forward to answer! My two's winter turnout varies - if it's dry and not really cold then they are out 24/7 but they have to come in at night only if it is very wet or is very cold - purely as that's what everyone else does and my mare objects if she's left by her chums, the others bring their horses in at night when the weather is especially wintery. As my mare has only recently gone barefoot it also gives her feet a chance to dry out a bit too when she's in. To give you an idea this usually translates into about half the week in at night and half out 24/7 at \the moment!

My girls are in at night and out during the day. But we have two large pens and the herd is split into groups so they rotate between being in the pens (with hay) and the field. It means they get to go out everyday but the field doesn't get totally trashed.

Both my horses live out in a hedged field this is their second winter out and both look well at the end of the winter. However the oldest who is 14 now looks sad and grumpy in the winter (he is not ridden until spring) so I am not sure whether his choice would be to live out or to spend his nights in a nice warm stable! He has a dust allergy so living out should be healthier for him. I felt sorry for both of them today with frosty tails and icicles on their feathers but perhaps that is just me with my human feelings. They are both well rugged and well fed so I do usually feel that living out is the best thing for them.

I voted for 1/2 day turnout and in at night, but that is purely Minnie's decision, not mine, as she won't stay out longer than that in the winter - she could have all day turnout, but creates big time if she isn't first in - although she does have longer some days.

Meant to be in at night, out all day. Often ends up being half a day or less out and occasionally spend all day in as well. It's halfway up a mountain without much shelter, plenty of mud and very little grass so a lot of the time in winter they'd all rather be in.

Restricted turnout when the weather is dry due to his mudfever
