Internet Provider (address). I think. ;D In the olden days each comp would have their own addy, nowadays providers give and addy to a pool of users. Again, I think. ;D

Is it really anyones business but the person who owns the computer how many IP addresses they have or how many different people use their computer/s? if you have a home network everybody shares the same ip,also ntl use a selection of random changing ips so they can swap between users at random. and some people use proxys to protect their pc from attack, and it can be a public proxy which lots of people use so ips arent that clear cut

Actually, at one time on this DG (old one) there were posts that looked like they were from me that I had not made, Stupid me, I actually presumed that it was someone with the same name as me, but I suppose it could be more sinister!

common Sense here - if you wouldn't want to be named - don;t name others etc etc!
