The only leather girth that I found that I liked and didn't have a) a big lump in the middle or b) elastic bits was an Albion leather girth.

I've got a lovely Jeffries leather girth, mine has bl00dy elastic in it but Rideaway sell the exact same one minus elastic.

I have an Albion but it has elastic - but you would hardly know as it barely moves it is so tight.

so do you find that the saddle can still move with elastic? Mine has slipped fwd a few times and this is the only thing I can think of as to why it is moving. Seems tight when i get on - but not so tight he can't breathe... then if we do something slightly energetic, it can slip fwd...

Em&ed, I would have a good look at the fit of the saddle, is it sitting level, if it's moving forward then perhaps it's tipping forward.

I have one that I tried to sell on ebay, well did sell but the dozy woman didn't collect it from the PO and it was returned to me and I ended up refunding her. It is 48", english havana leather. Can email a pic if you're interested?

Thanks everyone for your help. I have got one from ebay - not yet rec'd... the ones in Murphy's would be too small eden, but thanks for asking anyway Roz, his saddle is new and he seems a bit tricky to fit tbh - not particularly wide across the shoulders but deep girth. When i bought him he'd been out of work for months so I first got a wintec in med but now he's working more and properly, we recently got a wide fitting one... hmmmmm.... hopefully the new girth will work or I'll be back here for ideas thanks
