i would have said no!!!! Otto can get full of him self and try to race people if they overtake him and being so big he sets his neck and ive not got much of a chance. i would have said they were welcome to overtake but could they wait untill they were a good way infrount/out of sight untill they cantered.
but i would also work on your breaks.

I'm just surprised that the other riders felt it was OK to even ask if they could canter off in front of you - a lone rider. Don't feel in the slightest bit bad that you decided to let your horse canter with them. IMO it was by far and away the safest thing for you to do, and the advice that in future if this happens again, that you suggest that you trot off in front before they canter is a good one. Just make sure that they know not to canter until you are well out of the way in front - and absolutely no blasting up behind you!
