She looks lovely! I know exactly what you mean about lessons as I felt the same. Once you've a ned that you can bond with (rather than a different school horse every week) it's great to have these little targets as it definitely gives purpose. I found that it helped me to keep things structured.
Hope you had a lovely day yesterday. I had a 20 year dream fulfilled - even though Davie isn't mine I popped up to his field in the morning, he was a good 150m away from the gate (not the usual gate he comes out of either!) so I hollered on him. He turned, .....then cantered the length of the field through the mist til he got to me! When I was a kid, I used to dream of exactly that happening on Christmas morning! It made my day!

the Dr Cook bitless bridle made a huge difference to my ex- racer.
As for hacking out alone - I have had him 4 years now and am still not brave enough - although a very confident (and kind) friend of mine can do it....mainly because she takes absolutely no notice of his sppoks and nerves, insists on the best behaviour and this really seems to help him trust her. I only go out with calm companions, as I came to the conclusion I am not cut out for the nevous rides - I don't enjoy them!

I'm with you on that one beanie1... we ride to enjoy... right!! I think I have decided on a double jointed, dropcheek/baucher bit... but of course the local tack shop does not stock these as standard!! Have borrowed a loose ring single jointed snaffle - not to ride in... just to acclimatise to a bit - if I am going to compete at some point I will need it. Annother photo!! Found out my little bro had massaged some horses in ireland (he normally does people) so Rosie got a bit of a treat!! She is sooo pretty Feet not so nice though... this one is the worst ooooh look at those cracks!
