Hi all
I have been lurking on here for a while not posted for quite some time.
I am a busy Mum of a two year old toddler a housewife and work part time. When Owen was born sadly my horse died of Colic. It will be three years in March I lost her. Due to being so busy I am not going to be able to own a horse until Owen is at School.
So I am trying to find a horse on share where I can help and ride part time. For once in my life I have money in the bank my hair and nails are amazing. But I just miss being around horses mucking out and doing all the horsey things you do when you have your own horse. Unless you are horsey you just cannot explain it. Its like someone has taken away part of who you are.
Anyway I have put a few add around the local livery yards but had no luck. So wanted to ask you guys what you would be looking for in a good sharer. I think I am a good catch for someone. Here is my profile
female 32
has transport.
Has completed IH courses
Has Reiki Level 1 and going on to train in Bowen next year.
Big interest in Classical Riding completed course of 20 lesson this year on Pre Stallion.
Owned horses for 20 years.
Kind and sensible with good sense of humor.
Can ride x2 weekday or weekends.
Now how to I put an add together explaining this without sounding to Novice or know it all.
Any tips would be fab.
Thanks

ahhh thanks just wish I could find someone local. I know its a trust issue letting someone into your life to help out with your horse. And not all people are what they say. Hand on heart I am. Well I guess the time is just now right. I know a horse will come along just really hate not even being able to just be around a horse.

I have found a few horse to ride but both didnt work out. Its very hard to gel with both horse and owner.
I nearly bought a horse the other day just about stopped myself. it would just kill me to have a horse stuck out in a field that I couldnt ride as I was working or looking after my little one.
Plus I either find owners that are happy hackers to the point the horses are hardly ridden. And moe to the point correctly. Or I have found the hard rider that does competes and hacks out regularly but spends no time actually getting to know the horse. Or seeing when the saddle isnt fitting right or they are not sound.
Its really hard. Ideally I would love to find someone who can teach me and bring on my riding.
As a child I always rode for trainers and found it the best way to learn. It seems once you are an adult no one is prepared to take you on. I would love to help someone compete at the weekends grooming. I used to love all of it. You just learn so much.
But these days I am not the bravest rider on the planet and tend to put my riding abilites down when somemone enquires about my horse share.

Lucypally, have you thought about offering to crew for an endurance rider? I learnt loads doing that, and there is always loads to do - feeding, brushing down, cooling off, watering, driving vans, more than one person can do on their own.
Try Endurance GB and see if there is a local group near you?

Shame you're not in Leeds, I know a couple of people who would snap you up. Am amazed you haven't found something yet. Agree that it's just as important to get on with the owner as with the horse though. People are soooo much harder!

hi What a shame you are not a bit closer or ideally I was closer to you(my aim is to move to Cornwall at some point- being originally from Devon). We have two lovely horses that need extra riding. We have some great vetinery students riding in term time but they have awfully long holidays! Hope that you find a nice share.
