Never take a shortcut home across fields whilst as drunk as a skunk. You could end up covered in nettle rash and attacked by brambles. Also your sence of direction in this state leaves a lot to be desired so sed shortcut could become rather long.

When you go to buy a new car battery, don't park all the way over the other side of the car park.
(bet you can't guess what i did on my lunchbreak)

Loved the whole list Well Educated Guest! (Time you registered my dear!)
Lorraine, can you tell me the secret of the inside out duvet cover please as I'm being a bit blonde here and wondering what to do once you have it inside out!!
Gem, bless your little brother, so often they can be very profound (I think that is the word) and it usuallly makes you cry.
My lesson learnt? Play with fire you WILL get burnt! Hence, never trust a smiling shark!

Esme, put your arms all the way in cover when it is inside out, so you are holding the top corners, with the rest of the cover round your arms. Then, grab top two corners of duvet with same hands, so you are holding cover and duvet, then shake, and the cover will come off your arms and fall down onto, and over, th duvet, the right way out! Magic!

We have a king size duvet, I have to stand on the edge of the bed and get hubby to pass me the corners of the duvet, then I shake the cover down as far as I can with him helping to pull it down! Single duvets are easy, but big ones are a nightmare on your own!
Did you nearly get struck Moomin?

- Never put metal tins in a microwave - Never put an electric kettle on a gas hob to boil - Angry cats really can bite! - Never put anything black in with whites in the washing machine - Stilletto heels on gravel really isn't a good thing
and I agree with VBM, always listen to your mother!!

never put your pony's dark green numnah in the wash with your horse's sparkling white dressage square. I now have a lovely lime green dressage square, despite vanish oxiaction and rewashing, doh!

if your cat wakes you up in the middle of the night ,DO NOT ignore it and hope it will shut up, cat poo sprayed up the corner of your cream wall and carpet takes some cleaning up first thing in the morning

Never wear big knickers and an old bra for your first appointment with an osteopath in the mistaken belief that it will be a middle aged lady. For you will surely die with embarrassment when it turns out to be a rather attractive, rather striking, rather gorgeous young man in his mid thirties who then makes you stand in said underwear in front of a full length mirror while he stands behind you assessing your posture! ;D
