i also think a heath and safety stratergy has also to be in place, to show the council with your application, but dont quot me on it,

Have you seen this weeks Horse and Hound? They're running a feature on the state of modern riding schools based on a nationwide survey. I think its running for a couple of weeks - may be of interest to you.

Wow, thanks for all the replies, I was away this weekend and came back to loads of advice and ideas! Have now spoken to Council about licence and planning, SEIB about insurance, and menage builders about a school. You do not have to be BHS or ABRS qualified to teach, and being so does not reduce your insurance premiums, but if you are qualified you can become approved, which does reduce the premiums. Finn, I'm in Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant, which I believe is quite a way from you? :-( Will be going to buy H&H now, great idea, thanks! I'm getting quite excited now, I so hope I can do this! Any other ideas and suggestions anyone, please add them here! Many thanks!

as an active ambulance first aider, mum and someone who has seen nasty falls - please please please be first aid trained.
