Hi, everyone
This is my first post on this forum - linked through the Arabian Lines forum.
I have always wanted to do Endurance - can't jump anymore due to Spondylosis (osteoarthritis in the spine), so this is now the time to live my dream (if my back stands up to it - fingers crossed). I have a friend who has competed for some years and I ride her Arabs and Part-Breds. I have now also been offered a 10 year old Arab mare to bring on (hasn't been ridden for 2 years) - and eventually we will do pleasure rides and perhaps competitive endurance.
I am in Pembrokeshire - but close to Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.
Does anyone want to join me for rides in these counties? I need help getting my mare less 'competitive' in company!
Ali xx
ps I am a total novice at all this - and would love to help out at rides or crew for someone.

Wish I could join you but you're a bit far from me - I don't have transport at the moment (although am working on a solution to that for next year). I've done quite a few of the mid-Wales rides so that would be the two counties you mention (I'm not even going to try to spell the first one ). Has anyone else been out competing this year? I keep meaning to get out and help at a ride or two but just don't have the time at the moment. BUT - the pub I work in has finally been sold, only 2 more nights to do after tonight ;D so I should have some spare energy to help out once I've recharged my batteries a bit

I have just realised it is a year since I started this thread. I am organising the Worcester Way ride again on 3rd September and can accept late entries if anyone is interested. This is a training ride and we also have the Sabrina Valley ride in the Wyre Forest on 23rd September with a selection of classes. We have had a mixed year, Sundance has done quite afew rides including a 80km race ride and is now sidelined due to problems caused by a saddle so Kis is coming out of retirement to finish the season for him. We aim to do 2 days at Sherwood then something at Red Dragon. Is anyone else doing these rides?

What about coming to the Wyre Forest ride in Worcestershire on 23rd February? See details under events listing and also local areas.

Just thought I'd post on here to make it look a bit more up to date!

Don't work for your horse, don't expect him to work for you. Work with him for true harmony.

Hi, I love endurance. I have 2 horses and a pony. Menace, 15.1 Highland x TB and a recovering bucker, he has his 1st BTQ we mostly ride Grampian and Highland rides but were once lucky enough to be selected to ride for the Grampian team at a Tayside ride. ;D Danny, 15.1 Anglo Arab type. Also a recovering bucker. He did his 1st pleasure ride this summer. ;D Tricky, 13.2 Fell and a recovering rearer. Also completed his 1st pleasure ride this summer. ;D Yep, all my horses have had their 'issues' but we manage to work together. 11 years ago I completely lost my nerve when Menace decided being a bronco horse was a better option for him (no fun for me ) Then 10 years ago we were lucky to meet Monty and he helped to show Menace the error of his ways and show me how to work 'with' my horse as a team. It's thanx to that meeting that I ever managed to get back in the saddle, let alone back on the Menace and enjoy riding him again. Its also the reason I now have 2 other 'problem' horses, but like I said, they too have now. completed their 1st pleasure rides.

Bumping this up again..am now looking to doing endurance with loan pony.... he's not and arab nor is he fast.... (he likes to think he is..) but I think he will enjoy it and it will help to keep him ticking while his other rider competes him in dressage and eventually X-country
