I have lost my best friend

At 6.15pm tonight I lost my best friend.
For those of you who followed the story of me getting a horse in August last year, I have to tell you that this evening he suffered heart failure and was put to sleep. This was totaly unexpected and a great shock. One minute he was fine and the next he was in distress and the vet was called.
I only had Rhys five months but in that short time he became my best friend. We hacked every where, went to the beach and very nearly got arrested for tresspasing on goverment property (total mistake). He whinnied when my car pulled up at the gate, and gave me the biggest kisses, even if I did not have a mint or carrot, he would groom me when I scratched his back. Unlike some human friends he never had a bad thought, was the most kind, gentle and sweetest horse you could ever meet, and now he has gone.
My heart is breaking and only a cuddle from Rhys can mend it.

It's hard to believe that these things are meant to be for some reason, but they are. You two were meant to be together and share special times for his last months here.
