Thanks to everyone for joining in this old chestnut. I'm sure you've all heard all so many times before. Mind you, just knowing that I am far from alone in this is giving me renewed confidence and enthusiasm. While I wait for my friend to return from NZ (end of Feb; she's not silly) I think I may go to see a trainer that has been recommended to me and who specialises in wusses. I will keep you all posted!
Thanks again, this DG is really great, if addictive!!
PS - who is lol? Sorry, just can't go on seeing this abrev not knowing what it means!!

I have much of the same sort of problem and a lot of it is bridging the gap between groundwork and ridden work. Like lots of people above, groundwork is fine, but how do I get Caspar to respect and respond to me when I am in the saddle in the same way he does when I am on the ground? He is of the "shan't" frame of mind mostly. Answers on a postcard please ....................... we have made a certain amount of progress over the months and years, but this is still the one that gets me.

Dear Otto
From what I know about your background, this is perfectly normal. Boy, with what you have been through, I am amazed that you can get back on at all, let alone go out for a hack. I tried to send you a PM last night but my computer crashed in the middle of a long one. Hope all goes well, keep us posted.
