Go to the The Equipment Register rather then simply trailer watch on its own.
All stolen lorries, quad bikes and horse trailers are listed on their.
gwenoaks you can always take the person who sold you the trailer through small claims court for recovery of your money.

I've just had mine stolen - with a wheel lock on it which they must have had a master for as the lock is not damaged but is in a heap at the side of the trailer park -
The only thing I would say is don't put off til tomorrow what you could do today - I've been meaning to get one of those post code transfers for the roof and just never got around to it - and now it's too late!

Datatag is another very good company to register your trailer with. There is a small fee but it is worth it. I bought a secondhand IW trailer from someone who owned it from new. She had to sign a form with datatag to release it and I had to sign another form to register it in my name. They have a permanent record of all identifying features and numbers.
Another good way to stop it being stolen is to totally deface it with murals and spray art!!! Even if somebody stole it it wouldn't be worth their while trying to disguise the individuality...............

we had our trailer stolen earlier in the year, we were devastated as was used for RDA and we had just book holiday with nags in New Forest. However due to tenacious met police officer it was recovered and returned, with some damage, the rubber mats had been removed the chassis number removed. It is now repaired and in use again. Is a very distinctive make so was easy to identfy. was behind locked gates and had wheel clamp. If they want want it they will take it.
