I have a thoroughbred type 16.1hh competition horse. I have found that he has become very sensitive around the girth area.
When brushing and doing up his girth he is putting his ears back and snarling.
He doesn't have any rubbing or lumps around this area and is ridden in a dressage saddle with an anti-chafe short girth
Any advice and recommendations will be greatly appreciated

If it's a new thing then I would investigate gastric ulcers

Thank you, I looked into it and read up on the symptoms, however, he isn't showing any signs of them. He is a good weight He has a good shiny coat and is in good condition He is performing well He has a good appetite And is brilliantly behaved and happy when being handled and ridden He always has constant access to food and fresh water ...
