hi i have a exrace horse TB 16.2 he is ten years old his last owner had left him to do what he wants for three years . thanks to a lot of help from my local RA sally we have made big head way with his manners. but he does not like a bit he long rains in his dulley ok so was thinking of tyeing the micklem bridle . has any one had success from using one or any tips

No experience of that make im afraid. I assume his teeth have been checked. Have you looked inside his mouth? One of mine is bitless, inside his mouth he has a big fat tongue that spills over the bars of his mouth (without a bit) and his pallet is very flat, again this leaves no room for a bit. He rides in a bitless bridle designed by Farah Dejonette, a simple side pull, doesnt slip around the face, nice padded soft leather. He is very happy with it and the brakes are far better than if he had a bit in. Tried my mare in the same bitless bridle, absolutely awful! She doesn't need it, this was just an experiment. If you can try before you buy I highly recommend it x
