I've just got back from a short break in Belfast visiting the giants causeway and titanic. Amazing place but quite disconcerting to see the peace walls and people preparing for the Orange marches. On the last morning we went to the Crumlin road goal and when I walked into the exercise yard I was overcome with an awful feeling of hate - it actually felt like heavy weight on my chest and I couldn't wait to leave. I've recently done my reiki II and my tutor said we would feel more so I assumed it was due to the people who had been imprisoned there.
Imagine my shock though this morning to hear they found a huge bomb 12 hours after we left only a few hundred yards from where we were in the prison. The bomb was built to kill police and local people. I feel very odd now about it

That's very disturbing indeed.. there's so much we don't know about ourselves as humans..

Oh holi you were in my neck of the woods!! I'm close to the north coast and I work in belfast.
Very strange about your feelings and then a bomb scare so soon after, interesting how these things play out. There was also a bomb in Derry ~ Londonderry the day before that did actually explode although I don't think there were any physical casualties.
I haven't been to the gaol but I'm sure a lot of people get strange and eerie feelings when visiting these types of places but with your heightened senses I imagine it wouldn't have been a nice experience.
There is unfortunately a lot of hatred here still but what to expect when we have ex terrorists running our political parties. Can't wait for next weeks elections where nothing will change!!!

That's true, things have improved over the years, I get a lot of Europeans staying in my B&B who are touring the island of Ireland and they feel safe so that's all good - I just can't understand the mindset of the few who carry on with the sectarian hatred but again I'll come back to the politicians - it's really crazy to think that our two main parties manifestos are based on whether one is a Protestant or catholic, whether you want to be british or irish!! I saw a party political broadcast the other day and within the top 5 issues that party wanted to solve was which days the union flag would be flown on government buildings - I mean come on!!!!
Anyway I don't want to get on my soapbox!! I'm glad in general you had a good time - the causeway is a pretty special place isn't it? I hope the weather was kind
