Hi Gwen, that sounds great,I didn't see that one, sounds great, I looked and ordered the freedom harness too which has the two rings one for back and front but the walk in sync came first in the post, I like the lead on the walk in sync too.
no sadly I haven't got snowy anymore I had to make the very painful and hard decision to have him pts
he had neverouse agression towards people from a pup, everything was done, trainers and everything but it couldn't be fixed in him
I done everything to keep him safe, he wore a muzzle every where he went, even in the garden
but my son and his girldfrend moved in and snowy went to bite her face.
I got lectures after lectures from everyone, that it was only a matter of time before he did bite someone, he hated walks too, he would never go to tolet when out, he would only go in the garden, as he wouldn't put himself in a vauable postion.
in the end he had no life too
the garden was like folk nots incase he got out and bit anyone
we couldn't get anyone to look after him if we went away which we coudn't as he wouldn't let anyone other tham me and my husband near him.
I loved him with all my heart and its was horrendously painful to make that decision
to anyone who didn't know my story with snowy, I write on the members forum and it was last year he was sadly pts
this was the story of snowy
Snowy was a white German Shepard with nervous aggressive, I got him when he was 15 weeks old, he was the last puppy left in the litter, my mum went to buy him for me 4 years ago as a surprise as I had always wanted a white German shepard., but when she saw him he was barking at her from under the table,so she thought I better see him first.
I saw him and thought no, that's not the type of dog I want as he was hiding and barking at us, the breeder said he had only just started doing that in the last couple of weeks.
so we spent some time with him, when we should have walked away.
the longer we were there the better he seemed at coming around.
we went to thnik about him and returned to see him and he seemed okay with the second time
so we thought then he was fine and any little problems could be sorted so we had him.
brought him home he was great and great with my old
Jake Russell I was surprised to find he was house trained and he didn't chew anything
took him to puppy classess where he spent whole time wanting to hide and bark at everyone and he growled at anyone who went near him.
then found he wouldn't poo or wee anywhere other than his own garden
every food went right through him
and found through tests at the vets he had an enzyme deficiency where he couldn't break down his food, he lost loads of weight but I found a food he could have that being chappie.
everywhere we went he pull you to go home, or wouldn't want to get out of the car, he wanted to hide
so got a 1 to 1 trainer
he tried everything
he was highly trained after the trainer but he couldn't fix his nervouse aggressive towards people
he wouldn't take food when out in public so using food didn't work
everything was tried and tested to get him to gain trust in other people and enjoy going out,
as he got older he lunge at people to keep people away
he wore a muzzle everywhere even in his own garden
he wouldn't poo or wee only in his own garden as he wouldn't put himself in a
vulnerable position ,he hated going out, his tail between his legs but he was fantastic with us
so loving, highly trained
but I couldn't have anyone in the house with him, even my grandchildren.
I would lock him out. or lock him in when they were outside
I have a walkway where I live and it was getting harder and harder to get him out but keep him from biting anyone
my son and his girlfriend was staying with us and he went to bite her face but luckly he had his muzzle on
he was the most loving dog to us and the most beautiful dog and I loved him to bits, I could do anything with him.
but I had a tiking time bomb and it was getting harder and harder.we couldn't leave him with anyone and no one other than us could get near him, unless they know how to handle a nervous aggressive dog.
if no one came and we saw no one it was fine.
it was so hard making that decision, he was my beautful dog and I loved him with all my heart, I got him and I understood him
I still feel as if I have let him down
cassie came as a puppy of 8 weeks from a dog warden who knew about snowy and who had also adviced me that snowy was a ticking time bomb.
cassie loves people, children and other dogs also cats
we have no issues with cassie other than she is over loved, and for a while lived in snowys shadow but she doesn't now
and when snowy got pts, I had no interest in getting another dog at all, the pain and loss was too great but I came in from doing the horses and cassie was meeting me in the garden.
my family went and got her from the dog warden without me knowing.
