Well I had one today - ok I'm quite stressed at the moment and have had so much happening over last 6 months which is improving but still rolling on. Latest is builders!! Today they take out boiler so no heat/hot water for two days and other builder announced he would arrive tomorrow morning to rip out the kitchen!! OH is away and I am looking after son's manic spaniel and got work and horse........ So today after a not so brilliant lesson (both in the wrong place) I took the dog around the forest and fell in a bog!!!! One leg up to the thigh!!!! Stood there - final straw do I laugh or cry and burst out.......laughing - not much else you could do

Well done, holi. I'd have probably had a small so I admire those who can laugh in such circumstances. I hope your house gets sorted soon; no hot water at this time of year must be a nuisance!

Keep laughing! Having a builder as an old man who has Christmas off every year to do his next stage building works on our already half finished house, I have every sympathy, what makes me laugh is when he moans that I'm never home (at yard, it stays cleaner) I'll go home one day when he's done.

Its actually got worse yesterday - after walking dog at 6 am then work until 7pm finally got home to cold dark house at 7.30. After I had put the sitting room furniture back in place (plumber working in there to remove back boiler from wood burning stove) I lit said stove and 5 mins later all the fire alarms were going off as the house filled with thick smoke! Apparently he took the back boiler off and there was a crack somewhere so all the smoke billowed out rather than up the chimney! Then the bulb went in the light and OH arrived home to total chaos having been away for two days!!!
I didnt cry but to be honest didn;t laugh either - had rather a lot of wine instead!!!

I tend to do both at same time whilst swearing manically.

Well not sure yet as current situation is : no kitchen, spare room - floorboards up and plumbers stuff everywhere, spare rm 2 - christmas presents and rugs from rest of house (plus usual things), sitting room - holes in ceiling, walls and chimney breast waiting for replastering, dining room now contains a fridge, freezer etc and piles of stuff, breakfast room - holes in wall, kitchen - ripped out, walls being replastered, floor coming up - total mess and finally conservatory - well everywhere is covered by all the stuff from the kitchen. Then the garage/utility room - builders tools and stuff everywhere, garden full of stuff waiting to go in skip and two builders, one plumber and an electrician. So basically stuff everywhere!!! Study sort of ok but all husbands things in here too as he is ousted from his normal desk (and he's really untidy) and my bedroom is fine - ahhh! So going out lol - hopefully we will be back to normal by end of next week (with only a bathroom to replace, dining room to replaster and decorate and hall and landing to have floors sanded and redecorated)
