Last night Minn and me were out on our after tea walk, just round the village as we do every evening. Not that late really about 6 pm and Minn being a very brave girl in spite of the bangs and whizzes from the various fireworks being set off by the resident pyromaniacs that live here and thing Hallowe'en is the signal for a firework display every evening up to New Year! Minn was wonderful not taking a bit of notice of any of it just ambling along by my side, when out of nowhere someone shoved me to the ground and then ran off. I let go of Minn lead and screamed for her to come back and thank heavens she did without any hesitation as there were cars flying up and down the main road through the village last night (do's on at the Millstone and at the Village Hall) and I was terrified she would run into the road but she didn't. Managed to pick myself up and get myself home again (not too far thank goodness) and literally fell over the front doorstep......Emma and Andrew (daughter and son in law) were home and they were so angry that I had been hurt...........Andrews best mate and his wife were also at our house as they had all planned to go to the cinema together, so both lads went out to see if they could find anyone and Ems and Ruth took care of Minn and me, they reported it to the police, who wouldn't come up they will ring me back at some point today to take a statement over the phone. This morning I look like I've gone the full ten rounds with Mike Tyson. lump on my forehead and a cut there, left eyelid is swollen up, but I can still see out of it, and my nose and upper lip look like someones punched me repeatedly, never knew how hard a pavement is until I faceplanted it! Minn has beena little superstar , made a huge fuss of her last night telling her she was good brave girlie for not running away and for coming straight back to mummy when she was called..........she spent all last night on the sofa cuddled right up to me and then slept right by my side all night still won't leave me alone now she's asleep with on eye open and one ear cocked..........its almost like her and Fudge (who is also curled up here in the same attitude) are guarding me...........battered and bruised but not quite out for the count just yet.
